Masking the hard questions: Mask on

Mask fatigue? Zoom fatigue? Pandemic fatigue?

Having experienced now, over a year’s worth of awkward zoom silence, floor stickers telling us where to stand and ever changing mask mandates. If you feel like you’ve heard it all before, then you probably have!

It is easy to understand the fatigue… After all, we’ve collectively navigated the changing landscape thate9fb7a786a3e36c2fb4fb40886c8f278 COVID has produced.

Over Christmas and New Year, many were looking forward to celebrations and down time. However, while fatigue associated to all things pandemic may have set in; it was shown through case spikes and more lockdowns, collectively we need to maintain all recommendations to stay on track and stay safe!

Great Mask Ideas

The evolution of facemasks throughout the pandemic has resulted in many new styles and increasing comfort for users.

With mandatory mask use in many locations, it has been crucial to adapt masks to suit multiple activities and occupations; such as the Chef Works mask for chefs and the double strap mask for hospitality workers.

Helping to protect everyone and keep people safe, while maximising comfort and dare I say- style!

What mask should I pick?

Wearing face masks has been shown to lower the spread of respiratory diseases. But picking the mask that works for you is important for both your comfort and protection.

Mask layers are important and have been mentioned regularly.

A ‘ply’ is a layer of material, and the number of ‘plys’ is how many layers of material there is.

Two and three ply masks provide more protection than one ply and come in the form of: Different face masks and respirator on blue background. Protection against virus

  • Surgical masks: which catch droplets, stopping them spread to others. These masks are single use.
  • Cloth masks: either 3 layers of breathable fabrics or 2 fabric layers with a filter pocket. To be effective they must be washed daily or after each use.3 layers- filter pocket- small
